It wouldn't have mattered even a wisp if the home run had counted. You saw the "saving pitcher" Guidry in the bottom of the ninth serve up batting practice to the Vandy lineup. They were hitting the cover off the ball, even that long out. If the LSU run in the top of the ninth had been awarded, it would have just meant an additional gopher ball would have been delivered by Guidry in the bottom of the ninth.

Yes, but lsu lost because, JJ has a lack of eye for actual talent.
LSU won last year with a bad team. Fortunately for him, the rest of college baseball also sucked.
