He may.

We’ll find out in 8 months if the Trump presidency is effectively over.

I dont think the OP meant to include Reagan, but Reagan did get us involved in "peacekeeping" in Lebanon, which resulted in a marine base getting bombed, and the US then bombing Libya.

And there was the funding of that rascally group of rebels in Afghanistan who were fighting the Soviets.

He invaded Granada, too, but that is in our hemisphere.

Only Congress can start a war.

This is just practice.

It’s a significant chunk of recent history. Middle East is problematic to say the least, but we haven’t exactly played our hand great there historically…

Here’s a broader timeline:
1953: The U.S. and U.K. help overthrow Iran’s democratically elected prime minister and restore the Shah’s dictatorship, leading to the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

1980s, part I: (Iran-Contra) Reagan administration secretly facilitates arms sales to Iran, uses proceeds to fund Contra rebels

1980s, part II: (Iran-Iraq war) The U.S. assists Saddam Hussein’s Iraq… empowering another future adversary.

1990: Gulf war

2003: 9/11 + The U.S. invades Iraq over alleged weapons of mass destruction that were never found, beginning a decade long war in the Middle East

2016 (JCPOA): The U.S. joins an international agreement with Iran which places strict, verifiable limits on Iran’s nuclear program… blocking any path to weapons development for as long as it is upheld.

2018: IAEA repeatedly verifies Iran’s compliance, but the U.S. withdraws from the JCPOA following an administrative change and reimposes sanctions.

2019: Iran begins breaching the deal’s limits shortly after the U.S. turn.

2020: The U.S. kills Iranian General Soleimani in Baghdad, bringing the two countries to the brink of open war.

And that more or less brings us to the present.

On October 25, 1983, President Ronald Reagan ordered the U.S.-led invasion of Grenada, codenamed "Operation Urgent Fury," following a violent Marxist coup and concerns over the safety of American medical students. The joint operation with Caribbean allies deposed the military regime, restored order, and aimed to curb Soviet-Cuban influence in the region.

Key details regarding the invasion:
Justification: Reagan cited the need to protect 800-1,000 U.S. citizens (mostly medical students) and prevent a "brutal group of leftist thugs" from creating a strategic Soviet-Cuban outpost in the Caribbean.
The Conflict: The operation involved 7,600 troops from the U.S. and several Caribbean nations. Despite facing tougher-than-expected resistance from Cuban armed forces, U.S. forces secured the island by November 2.
Casualties: The conflict resulted in 19 U.S. service members killed, 25 Cuban fatalities, and over 60 Grenadian deaths.
Outcome: The Marxist government was replaced by an interim government appointed by Governor-General Paul Scoon, with democratic elections held in 1984.
Global Reaction: The invasion was popular in the U.S. but criticized internationally, with the UN Security Council condemning it as a violation of international law.
Strategic Significance: It was viewed as a strong anti-communist move, projecting U.S. power during the Cold War.
