Rewatching GOT Season 1. Even when GOT was good, everything involving Dany was terrible. And I’m not blaming Emilia Clarke. She can only recite what they give her.

But compared to everything else in Season 1, the Dothraki stuff is so out of place. You have all these tension building scenes of political intrigue, you have the slow mysterious stuff north of the wall….cool I can get into this.

But Then you flash to Dany and Dothraki and every scene is loud ignorant savage disgusting chaos. And then Jorah reciting his lines like he’s reading poetry. It was so awful. I remember fast forwarding thru all her scenes when I watched it the first time. I still hate it. Doesn’t get better on rewatch.

Look I’m not an actor, so who the frick am I to talk, but she is a bad actress. Has she been in anything worth a damn since GOT?

The scene in the later seasons when the Dothraki ambush Jamie/Bronn and the Lannister supply caravan was so awesome..

Bronn telling Jamie to bail out before they get slaughtered. Jamie starting to say he thinks they can take 'em, then cut off by the sound of the first dragon he's ever seen in real life.

His and Bronn's reactions were so well done.

Then you get Dany and her stupid voice. "Dracarys, yaz queen!"

She was hired to take off her clothes. Then she decided that she was too good to take off her clothes on the show that made her famous.

Not really. Although Ponies on Peacock is actually decent and she's he lead in that.

The Dothraki charge at winterfell was just stupid as was bits and pieces of that storyline but overall (Pre season 6) it was great.

Her whole journey , although long winded, was fascinating to watch and her burning burning the other Kals was kickass.

Freeing the unsullied was my favorite scene of the entire series and although it wasn't specifically Dothraki, it moved her into a new tier of conquest that started with the Dothraki.

Such a disappointing end though.

I thought it was fine. The idea of dany showing up with a horde of dothraki when westeros armies are depleted is a good one. Since they only made a few episodes after their arrival it didnt have the impact it should have. The reach battle scene was cool though.

Dany is insufferable until she deals with the slavers. That was when she became cool, in my mind

I don't know what makes acting good or anything, but have you watched any interviews she's done? Those eyebrows are out of control and she has that English squint to her laugh. You didn't see any of that in her role as Dany and I guess that should count for something.

I thought all of her stories were awful. Dothraki, Unsullied, flying around on dragons.

Most of the main characters talk with each other and build tension. Dany was too often just on her own as a main character.

If you are a fan of listening to Varys, Tyrion, Littlefinger, Tywin, Jamie, and Roose have conversations, then most of Dany’s stuff comes off as a kids action movie. It was like watching two different shows.

If they just cut her completely out of it and just had the Lannisters/Boltons/Starks battle each other for 4-5 seasons and then the Whitewalkers eventually kill all of them it’d have been a better show.

Yep.

The ultimate defeat of Cersei should have been the focus of the seventh season. There is no way she could have realistically held out when half of the Seven Kingdoms were rebelling against her for what happened at the Great Sept of Baelor. Factor in Dany arriving in Westeros with a horde of mounted warriors and the chances of a Lannister victory with everything against them were next to zero. Weis and Benihoff, however, forgot how to write once they left the source material behind.

In the book, I think she's only 12 when this happens. Maybe 13. It's pretty icky.

So you wanted a different show than Game of Thrones. Got it.

That was her thing. She was off on her own, with learning to be a ruler with little in the way of training wheels.

Starting with the slavers, I became a Dany fan.

Before that, she sucked
