Girl Fights?

I was reading the thread about the 12 year old in Villa Rica, Georgia who passed away following a physical fight with another girl b/c they got kicked off the school bus, and I thought of something.
Almost every time I see HS and lower grade students fighting in viral videos these days, it's girls. Not always, but almost.
My mother taught at a small southern private school, K-12 grade, and I went there for my whole K-12 education. I don't remember seeing girls physically fight.
Ever.
Not one time.
Boys, yes. Especially in PE or in the context of sports when tempers might flare due to the competitive and physical nature of the activity. And the younger the grade, the more fights I can remember.
But girls...I can't remember a single one. I'm sure there were some—there had to be some hair pulling and slap fights somewhere along the line—but they were insignificant enough for them to not have made a sufficient impression for me to remember them. And like the boys, the older we got, the less likely something like that was going to happen. I can say with a high degree of certainty that past sixth grade or so (probably more like 3rd or 4th grade, but to be generous), the fact that I can't remember any girls rolling around on the ground kicking at each other with murder in their eyes like I see on these viral videos is a function of the fact that it just didn't happen in my environment, not that I just don't remember it.
It strikes me as so trashy and low class for girls to act that way every time I see one of those videos, and the fact that they are apparently the norm in most schools—at least public schools—is disheartening to me.
The coarsening of the culture, indeed.

Where did you grow up?
I’ve seen a girl take a razor out of her mouth in South Cameron and slash another chicks face clean open over a dude.
It was nasty.

Ranson Middle in Charlotte has plastic forks in the cafeteria d/t Treena stabbing Trina because she pronounced her name the same way.
True story. 1993.
Then in 1994 our high school had a shooting in H-hall because a white young man stepped on a black young man’s shoe in the bus.
He survived a .22 round to the occipital lobe.

Was that recently? If not, what was the time period?
And was stuff like that common, or was that an outlier?

The things some idiots will downvote on this board make me laugh.
There's someone on here who likes to see girl violence, apparently.

Your parents never considered taking you out of that school?
I mean, the next white kid taking a bullet to the head for stepping on someone's shoe might have been you.

Violence is usually an outlier especially knife and razor violence. Brutal shite, very messy.
This would’ve been around 2010-2011
This level of violence is not normal and I rarely saw chicks fight although it did happen from time to time. Dudes fighting is a different story, saw that often.
Louisiana is the most violent state statistically so it is what it is. This was in a smallerish city so better off than if I was in BR or Nola.

I went to high school in Richmond Hill which is a fairly well off area suburb of Savannah. Don’t think I’ve ever actually seen two women physically fight each other. Definitely passive aggression though and herd thinking. Boys, very much yes, including two myself with mixed outcomes.
Nice and odd topic OP

I blame social media. It's done a lot of good, but a shite load of bad. Lot's of peer pressure and exposed to culcha. It comes directly to them on their phone when otherwise they wouldn't be see it up close

First girl on girl fight I saw was around 1968, by the time I was in Jr. High I had seen many.

I graduated from a New Orleans public high school in 1996. Guy fights were broken up by coaches or teachers. Girl fights were vicious; the only time the cops showed up were for girl fights.

Black girls, almost always.

Girl fights are the result of structural fascism propagated by the white cis-heteropatriarchy. Only an increase in marginal tax rates and a new bureaucracy can solve this problem.

Same here. First time I saw a girl throw a punch was outside the cafeteria in college after I was exposed to a more diverse group of people. She jumped on her boyfriend. He didn’t fight back, just covered up and took it.
