Heading to the Saenger Thurs to see the Phantom. 1pm show so thinking we'll do brunch before. Will have a decent sized party including a few kids so will probably have to make a reservation. Looking for a spot either close enough to the theater that we can park once and walk to restaurant then theater or something in Metarie or something we can hit up on the way in. In the area I see Cleos and Daisy Dukes that might fit the bill but obviously open to recommendations.

My favorite place to go before nighttime events at the Saenger is Galatoire's, but if you have a 1;00 show you will be too rushed. I would wait until after the play and go to the pizza and wine happy hour at Domenica in the Roosevelt.

I wouldn't consider either of those.
I feel like Arnaud's actually does a decent job with brunch and may be able to accomodate you. It's a pretty easy walk from there to the Saenger.

Domenica opens at 11. That would be my choice, though not brunch or breakfast food. I feel like brunch is more of a weekend marketing thing.

Agreed, but does it open early enough?

Their website says 10:00. That should be plenty early enough.

1030 was my thought for time so we wouldnt be rushed. When I said brunch I didn't explicitly mean brunch cuisine, though that would be perfectly fine. Just good eats really.

Besame is right across Canal. They have some pretty good offerings. Worth a look.

The opening scene of Phantom is arguably the best/gripping of any musical, do not be late

Yes. It's been a while since I've been to a show, but you may not even be allowed to enter late.
I'd pick somewhere that is open earlier than 11 and ensure it's a place that takes reservations so you're not waiting 45 minutes due to the large party aspect. That's just me, though. Worry wart and early to everything to a fault.
EDIT: I missed the Thursday part and was thinking Sunday when places are packed. Thursday will be a bit easier!
