Trump stated that the project, which is a $300 billion deal funded with the help of Indian multinational conglomerate Reliance Industries, will expand American jobs along with other economic prospects. “It is because of our America First Agenda, streamlining Permits, and lowering Taxes, that have attracted Billions of Dollars in Deals coming back to our Nation,” Trump said. “A new Refinery at the Port of Brownsville, will fuel U.S. Markets, strengthen our National Security, boost American Energy production, deliver Billions of Dollars in Economic impact, and will be THE CLEANEST REFINERY IN THE WORLD.” More details on the project and the opening date are not available, but more announcements are expected soon.

I've been bitching about refining capacity to anyone who'd listen for years.
All through the "drill baby drill" days, cranky old turds like me were saying that drilling is great, but we're still exporting crude because we lack refining capacity and haven't built a refinery in 50 years.
Holy crap, can't believe it. Finally a politician who gets it and delivers.

I think I remember oil talking about refinery shortage as a reason for higher prices. I may be wrong but seems no one has had good reason to fix it.

Oh heck yes. We need several. The demand for refined oil products is several times higher than 50 years ago.
