And US blows up the ships.

6:30 PM: CENTCOM releases footage of U.S. destroying Iranian mine-laying ships

The number of mine-laying ships destroyed by American forces in Iran has jumped to 16, according to U.S. Central Command.

The issue of whether Iran has laid any mines in the Strait of Hormuz has become a major concern, given that the embattled regime in Tehran has threatened to attack shipments of energy passing through the critical waterway.

4:30 PM: U.S. has destroyed 10 Iranian mine-laying ships, says Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump said that American forces have “hit, and completely destroyed, 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships,” in the past few hours. He said that there are “more to follow!”

What about a few of these...

My contact at CNN said that they were mostly peaceful fisherman trying to feed their family.

Straight of Hormuz is a pretty small region
I would think air and naval superiority would be achieved like really fast

Ummm they're just getting around to that today? We were told the Iranian Navy was already sunk. Iran has dozens of these and they've been already working longer than we've been looking for them apparently.

A mined Straights of Hormuz is officially closed indefinitely and it won't be reopened by any airplanes.

That’s pretty cool. Did not realize the Navy had some all wood hull ships made of cypress and Douglas fir.

Don't think it is some dinghy. They have a fiberglass shell on them that is very durable.

Please point out where a mine has been laid and a ship damaged?

We will wait, just like the US Armed forces are as they observe every single port along the Iranian coast.

So what’s Iran’s play here? Shutting down the strait hurts their partners and neighbors more than it does the US and Israel.

And when this is over? How are they going to undo this?

I served 4 months on a mine sweeper the USS Engage out of Mayport Florida, while waiting for Nuke School to start.

Minesweepers are a rough ride

Seems like we should know the answer to this. Or do we wait until a good ship goes boom? You know they want us to send ground forces in so they can get to the final battle. Those brainwashed MoFo's will never give up.

It was 45 years ago for me

Don’t know if it’s the same as in 1981 but if it is the stay off of Saturday Morning Homework Makeup. Depending on his academic strength he could receive mandatory study hours. Study and work the problems. Make sure they are always correct, because you will have to redo them if they are wrong anyway. It’s important because it’s training you to be right because there isn’t room for mistakes
Expect to spend 80 hours a week in the school, because you can’t study out of school. Materials are Classified
