Why is Nola playing for Team Italy over USA.

Is it due to not making USA team? Almost every pitcher for team Italy is born in USA. Crazy.
Skenes looked like typical Skenes. Glad to see at least 2 Tigers on Team USA.

Yes.
He wanted to pitch in the WBC and the only way he could've done that was with Italy.

He is eligible to play for Italy due to his family's heritage; specifically, his great-grandparents were born in Italy.

His best days are behind him - he was not invited to play for US. I guess he wanted to be part of it. Not sure what generation of his family was born in Italy but it seems a stretch.
