Mason Braun to 1b
Dardar to DH
Stanfield back to LF when he returns

MILAM SS
Brown RF
CURIEL cf
Dardar DH
Stanfield LF
Braun 1b
Arrambide C
Simpson 2b or Ruckert 2b
Caraway 3b

Use Yorke as a PH for one of the righties in the bottom 3 in key situations

If he can play the position competently then I do not hate this.

I think he has to move better than Yorke. Also would seriously consider playing ruckert every day to solidify IF defense more.

Braun is 3 for his last 21. Remind me why we’re taking Yorke out of the lineup for that. It’s almost like people are unaware Yorke went 4/12 the past weekend

The OP is a troll.

Braun's avg is .002 higher than Yorke and he has fewer Ks. Otherwise, Yorke is better in every other category, including run scored and RBI by a significant amount.

He said in an early season interview that he never really played there growing up, so it would be a transition for him.

That could negate any fielding advantages we get by putting Ruckert at 2nd full time.

Dardar or Simpson (neither of whom I'm particularly enamored with right now) may be better suited for 1b than Braun, in the short term.

I like having Stanfield back in that 9 spot like last season.

Would prefer to go: Curiel, Milam, Brown at the top.

I’m not understanding the fascination with Ruckert. He has an error and another ball misplayed not marked as one in limited time. He made alot of errors in the fall at SS. (3 in one game) What makes him a better option coming from HS than a guy that hit over 20HR in college last year?

Its clear they see Ruckert as one of their top defenaive IF. You arent gettting a ton ofnproduction from the other guys and you are giving up runs every game due to defense.

I think they see him as the top option that gives a sufficient combo of defense and offensive potential. I think Clauss is considered a better defender, but the bat is lagging.

If all the other bats were performing, and the missing piece was infield defense, we may see more of Clauss. But right now Ruckert provides some of the potential at both.

Yorke looks like he doesn't belong batting. Like it's really bad. He's whiffing air on 3 straight change ups that should be crushed on the inside and he can't even make contact. Swinging for fastballs when everyone except him seems to know they're not coming in those situations. He's not even batting .200 the past 2 weeks. Defensively though, he's fine so far. Don't know if Braun can beat him out with his glove but doesn't hurt to try.

I think they should seriously consider putting Bide on the bench and developing Serna. They're both bad right now but Bide's bat lately hasn't been worth it and Serna definitely has potential behind the plate. Bide is on another level of awful defensively. I just don't see his future at catcher he lacks almost any fundamentals to play the position outside arm strength. He's going to get RAVAGED in SEC play for free bases. I think he needs to seriously be looked at elsewhere if he doesn't show significant improvement by the end of this season.

That experiment might be over. Naturally Serna will have growing pains too but that's to be expected rather than give it to someone who will probably never be good at the position.
