Plans for the old Tin Roof released - not going to be a brewery.

Tin Roof closed in 2024 and plans were finally released for the old Tin Roof location. It looks like it is going to be an office and a location for start up businesses dealing with carbon capture.
It's unfortunate that another brewery went down with nothing to replace it.

The state plans to turn the former Tin Roof Brewing location into an incubator for carbon management startups.
Proof Works will provide lab space and programming for early-stage tech startups to develop their ideas into market-ready products.
The facility will have labs, programming and workspace for startups working on carbon capture, utilization and monitoring and industrial technology. The new startup hub is part of East Baton Rouge Parish’s portion of FastSites, 19 industrial and business sites around Louisiana that will receive state funding for development in hopes of attracting investment.

Maybe the startups could manage carbon by turning it into beer?

IDK. That's a good question because originally they were trying to sell Tin Roof as a turnkey business. I didn't see any kind of equipment auction come up so it might all still be there.

Wait Tin Roof went under ? I had no idea. I actually really liked their parade ground porter.

I think it was more the owners didn't want to deal with it anymore vs it actually going under.
We liked it because it was close enough to the LSU baseball games, and Tin Roof had a wider beer selection than most of the other local spots. It made it easier to get our group to agree to go there before games when we had people that weren't really into beer. .

You need to disassociate yourself from these people immediately. You don't need that kind of toxicity in your life.

Just realized this is on the F&D board. editing out my OT/Poli statement.
I miss Tin Roof. It was a great place to grab a beer after work. And the Voodoo APA was one of my favorites.

I think they are. Seltzers, more specifically.

It really surprised me when they closed. I thought for sure someone would buy it and keep it going. Out of all the local breweries, I figured they would be the ones to last. Seems like they were the oldest and had the biggest presence in grocery stores / convenience stores.
Voodoo pale ale was my favorite beer. Sucks that it went away.

Loved it the first time I had it. But it wasn’t consistent year to year, and I wrote it off after a couple of duds.
