As we watch Earth's shadow transit the moon, that shadow is obviously curved. If the Earth isn't a Sphere then how would that be possible?Only a sphere would always casts a circular shadow; a flat disk does so only when facing the light directly. Would our flat earth friends care to explain that?

You've got it all wrong bro. The moon and the sun are just projections on the firmament. There's no shadow to be cast by earth. Plus, while the earth is flat the turtle that it is riding on is not.

It's interesting how far back this legend goes. Both Asian and North Americans had this belief, which means Native Americans brought it over with them in the ice age when they crossed the Bering Strait.

Could be a flat disk, at the correct angle between the Sun & Moon??

According to AI

quote:

Flat Earth theorists often claim the "shadow" on the moon during a lunar eclipse is not caused by Earth at all, but rather by a hidden, invisible "shadow object" or "anti-moon" that occasionally passes between the Sun and Moon. They argue this celestial object is perfectly circular, explaining the curved shadow without requiring a spherical Earth

Yesterday's thread about the eclipse got me thinking. The dog took me out to piss when it was happening, and I didn't know of it, but I looked up while watering the lawn and said what the frick out loud. I couldn't have explained why I said it at the time.

It amazes me thee mental gyrations that some folks go thru to keep themselves from accepting the fact that they're wrong in the face overwhelming evidence when it would just be easier to accept the truth....
