TheAdvocate.com is just a god awful user experience. The redirects, the ads, the page load speeds, the layout from 2002.
Makes me irrationally angry every time I click a link.
And sadly, I'm an actually subscriber/customer bc my wife insists on getting a physical newspaper,.so I have a login.

You shouldn't have these issues:
I use our work login and have never had any redirects or pop up ads. And that's from both the computer and phone.
You probably have a bunch of adware on your computer that needs to be removed.

Both Nola.com (Times Picayune) and The Advocate are owned by John Georges. They even have a lot of their stories overlap where if you click on a Nola.com article it opens in The Advocate and vice versa.

It's not news but Walter Football website might actually be where internet aids came from.

Good call, that site is absolutely unusable with the ads, which is a shame because the content is good.

What pisses me off is they send me push notifications for stories and then the story is behind a paywall. Fuk dem

To hell with AL.com and their staff (especially the race baiter Roy Johnson and Joe Goodman).

One thing I find funny with some news websites and the Advocate is one of them. Some photos get auto cropped and some of the photos especially those of athletes are left with a crotch shot for a thumbnail for a story.
You would think a copy editor or website manager would say something or go in and change the thumbnail instead of leaving a moose knuckle on the page.
I know there may be some closeted fans of this.

I like the Advocate.
Where else will you get local news, a good sports section and two crossword puzzles.
I don't agree with them always, but beats Facebook.
