Yesterday, Yorke and Simpson both looked shocked taking strike 3. With CJJ teaching an elite knowledge of the strike zone, do you think he includes this in his scouting report for the players?

Was hoping someone would ask him in the post game presser.

Every team in college baseball deals with shitty umpires. It is what it is. You teach the players the strike zone and adjust in game if you notice the umpire is calling something specific.

Was Jeff Head the HP yesterday? The new guys may be less familiar with him since he’s SE based and does a lot of SEC games.

Yes, it was Jeff Head, and he was inconsistent as usual.

It’s sad that 10-16 year olds have better knowledge of strike zones than grown men and women probably 75% of the time

How he gets to the CWS amazes me.

The SEC should implement the ABS system to assist the umps behind the plate. It can be sponsored like T-Mobile does for the MLB spring ball and SEC schools can make some nice ad revenue. Just introduce it in SEC play at this point and eventually the rest of college baseball will come along.

No, the ump in game 1 was worse by a mile, Head had to keep going to review numerous shitty calls by that guy. When Jay has to keep telling the ump that the pitcher was balking the ump didn't even know what was happening.

Well I guess he’s got competition, he infuriates me at some point every time I see him call a game
