Looks like an enjoyable return to form. And the Redditors are already kvetching about the pronoun joke, which makes it all the better.

I think I agree with that.
I don't think I realized there were 5 SMs out there. I want to say I've seen the first three, and then clips of the fourth one turned me off of seeing it. NO idea they had a fifth one. Were those the ones with Simon Rex in them, or am I thinking of another spoof series?
Either way, this at least looks decent and I'll watch with low expectations. But it does looks like the same vein of fun that was in the first two.

Scary Movie 3 is probably my favorite, followed by 2. Not sure I even watched the 5th one?

The wayans lost the control of the franchise after SM2. I remember SM3 people hating when it came out but has since grown on people. It’s got some really funny stuff but ultimately is a huge step down from the first 2
SM4 got a lot of hype from the trailer, I remember the Shaq in the Saw bunker was basicallly the entire marketing campaign but I don’t think anyone could tell you a single moment of that movie past that part. Think that was the last one to have an actual cast of real comedians and celebrities
Every thing after 4 is on par with those barely even trying parody movies that go direct to TV. Wayans got the rights back to make this one which is the reason for hope. I think it’s a much harder thread to needle in the internet age, not bc of “wokeness” or whatever but bc it’s hard to have fresh jokes when people are posting every joke possible on these horror movies as soon as they drop so it’s easier for the jokes to feel overplayed

Scary Movie 1-3 are great comedies. 4 and 5 are horrible. This trailer looks closer to 4 and 5. A lot of lazy references. 1-3 are very clever spoof movies. I'll still be checking it out though.
