Spending a weekend in March with wife in downtown Mandeville , what are best restaurants, bars, shops, and things to do?
And is it worth it to go anywhere in Covington or not?
Thanks in advance .

Chimes used to be good and there is an old hotel in downtown Covington that used to have a good bar. I haven’t lived there in almost 10 years though.

Downtown Mandeville? Is there such a thing?
Better to stay in downtown Covington (Southern Hotel) and visit Mandeville if you want stuff there.

Rubys Roadhouse is pretty good for live music in Mandeville. There are a few bars on the lakefront I personally am a fan of Donz and also has music on the weekends a lot

For someone wanting a nearby quick one or two night stay just to get out of the house with your spouse, old downtown Covington and even old Mandeville by the lakefront is not a bad option.

Good question. I think it's the corner where the Candy Bank is or was. I am not sure it's there anymore.

Downtown Covington is nice, but I don’t know what nightlife is there. We like Chimes and Rusty Pelican (Covington location) for casual. Abita Roasting is good, too. Especially for breakfast and coffee, but lunch as well. There’s an ice cream place downtown too that makes its own. But by weekend it’s running out. I don’t live there but visit family.

527 for a steak is great, pats rest a while is good, too and right on the lake. Rusty pelican has some good sandwiches.

First of all stay at the Southern Hotel in Covington. Great place near a lot of good restaurants.

In Mandeville, Aperitif on the lakefront is good for nice cocktails and dinner. Pats rest a while is good if you’re rather have lunch on the lakefront. Barkey Oak is good for an afternoon beer or a drink or 2 after dinner. Away from the lakefront is Pardos. They have a great bourbon selection if that’s your thing. Rubys is about it for later night entertainment.
Downtown Covington has the Southern Hotel that has The Cypress bar and a good restaurant. Also have Tavi which is good for dinner and Covington Beer Garden for beers and burgers if you prefer something more laid back.
Madisonville has some decent restaurants. Social, which is Peruvian and Tchefuncte’s are both good. The Anchor is above Tchefunctes and is a good spot for lunch along the river.
If the misses likes shopping plenty of small boutiques on Girod street and downtown Covington.
That’s all I got off the top of my head.

I got a hand job from a really hot girl in Mandeville once.
Would have been about 1983
I don't know if she's still there or not.
