Best driver for a person with swing speed around 100?

If you’re serious about the game you need to get fitted into the correct shaft for your swing. Not just the standard flex, Senior, Regular, Stiff etc.. I mean within those standard flexes you have custom shafts that have several different profiles and weights.

I haven’t seen it yet, but in general they will have one test set up for low, mid and high swing speeds.

First off, as one already asked, how serious are you about your game? If you're a 20 Hcp who just plays a few weekends a month and wants to have fun, you don't need a "CUSTOM" fitting, meaning you don't need to go and try every single driver head custom shaft combo to help your game. There will be a lot of people who will call BS on this but it's true. You can go to your local golf shop, Edwin Watts, Golf Galaxy etc... and get fitted for an off the rack driver with stock shafts and they will be fine. They will help you with lie angle, length and swing speed which is not what I would call a "CUSTOM" fitting, it is a fitting, just not what most would call custom. They normally don't have the exotic $300 and up shafts, just the stock which are perfectly fine for weekend golfers.

For a 100mph swing speed, you would most likely be in an S flex, they have different weighted shafts that you can also try like a 5S or 6S which are the most common for regular amateur weekend golfers. An X flex, extra stiff, might be right if you transition hard from the top of your back swing to the down swing, they can help you there too.

In my opinion, a true custom fitting is where you not only try different driver heads, but you also try stock and what I call exotic shafts, or custom shafts that make the driver cost considerably more. Edwin Watts, Dicks, Golf Galaxy, at least the ones I've been in, don't have these and the guys working there aren't as knowledgeable about a true custom fitting. Find a local pro at a golf club, PGA Superstore or 2nd Swing that does a true custom fitting. The people who get these are normally the ones who take the game serious, play more than just the weekends and play some tournament golf. You won't gain much noticeable length from the more expensive shafts, but what they offer is more accuracy, your dispersion will be better, meaning that if you hit 10 balls with a stock shaft and 10 with the custom, the grouping of the 10 custom shaft hits should be in a tighter circle or closer together. If you're a high hcp golfer who sprays it around the course, a costly custom shaft won't help much and will be a waste of money, in the $1000 range for the newest driver/custom shaft combo. If money isn't an option, then by all means, go all out and spend what you want. I know guys who can't hit the broad side of the barn and have spent upwards of $5000 on their whole set.
