What is the point of asking you to email them something and then also asking you text them that you emailed them?
It seems rather counter productive and double work if you ask me.
You get alerted on your phone that an email was received. A text message is just another ding to throw off your line of thinking.
Just my 2 cents.

To promote inefficiency and placate their irresponsibility.

They receive email on their phone. It is not like they are using a flip phone.

I have a bunch of clients (individual people) that check their email maybe once a month, so I have to call or text them to check it.

you have proven incapable of performing a simple task in the past so now you're boss is having you engage in something that ensure the first task will be done..I've had to do this before
