First huge hurdle is getting Thune to even bring it to a vote and kill the zombie filibuster.

Hopefully after Trumps pressure last night that gets pushed through. Sad we even have to worry about this.

With that said, if they get through and codify it, there will 100% be lawsuits out the arse from NGOs and dem led groups.

I have no doubt some circuit judge will put a wrench in things with a bogus ruling.

Question is does this go through appeals and SCOTUS before November for it to be enacted.

If enacted I really do think the dems are in deep trouble to relevancy. They rely so heavily on mail in ballots and ballot harvesting in urban areas.

The Blue states will say: 'We cannot adjust our procedures in time for this Nov."

Probably not. IF it passes it will be challenged in the courts and that will likely keep it from being in effect before the midterms.

And IMO they wouldn't comply if it were possible. They're pretty open about doing what's best for them.

Which would create one hell of a legal battle if the administration tried to challenge the elections in court.

Trump may sign an EO requiring these 3 things:

- Ban mail in ballots
- Mandatory Voter ID
- Proof of citizenship

Which will be challenged in court in a liberal federal court circuit where anti-Trump judge will be randomly selected. TRO will be issued until case is heard which keeps it from going into effect.

Yaboylsu63, I'm with you on this. I want it passed ASAP. In effect, yesterday. Let's freakn go.

In reality, I won't be surprised when the other comments are correct; challenged in the courts, delay, whine and cry.

This could be the death rattle of the Democratic party.

You can be certain of this: If the Democrats were looking to pass this legislation, it would be done tomorrow, with every State having to implement emergency changes to ensure a ballot for a dog catcher next week, were qualified.

Nothing has seemed to stop them regarding requirements but I remember he did say that it will get done one way or another.

AI:
Standing Requirement: To challenge an order, a party must demonstrate they are directly affected or "injured" by it.

Judicial Review: Federal courts, including the Supreme Court, can review, block, or invalidate executive orders that exceed the president's power or violate constitutional rights.

Congressional Action: Congress can pass legislation to nullify an order, though this can be vetoed by the president.

Successor President: A new president can revoke or modify orders issued by their predecessors.

Basis for Challenges: Challenges often focus on whether the order violates the separation of powers by attempting to create new laws, which is a power reserved for Congress.

The legislation should have included that any states that do not adhere to these standards will not have their votes counted.

There are a few states with enough red influence to get it done....Georgia, Ohio, etc

Not saying it will get done, just saying they can push it best

Hell, fricking Louisiana will jam that shite thru with quickness

LMAO. NO, they won't. We passed the law that people have to prove citizenship in Spring 2024. Nancy Landry said that she needed time and did not want to implement until January 2025...AFTER the presidential election.

It is 15 months PAST when it was supposed to be implemented and she STILL is not doing it.

Unfortunately, the red states can be just as bad as the blue states.

Can Law passed by both bodies of Congress, and signed into Law by the POTUS, be challenged by the courts on any level?

Help me with this one.

What's a good example?

Lots of hurdles when its not passed nationally.

Wise decision if you understand the workings of the system
