The backroom post got me thinking.

i have seen so many damn A24 trailers and thought "well, that seems interesting" but i never follow through. I want to remedy this. i have seen some, but certainly have a huge void.

What would your top 10 A24 movies be. Should give me a good start.

Hard to argue others at 1-2, especially Ex Machina at 1.

Forgot that warfare is A24. Might be my favorite film of 2025. Watching it in Imax was incredible

It’s not the most A24 feeling movie or top 10 but they have one in theaters right now that was pretty good - How to make a Killing. Glenn Powell led black comedy

2. Good Time
3. Warfare
4. American Honey
5. Mississippi Grind
6. Locke
7. Hereditary
8. The Lighthouse
9. The Brutalist
10. Green Room

Honorable Mention:
Janet Planet

This thread popped up about a year ago so I looked back at my answer and had to tweak it some by adding The Brutalist and Warfare.

Love this studio, but I think they’re starting to become watered down. They used to only release a handful of niche movies a year now it seems like every big release is A24

I’m still impressed that Tom Hardy talking on the phone in his car for 90 minutes was so compelling.

Anytime I describe that movie to somebody I have to start with “this is going to sound boring but…”

I think it’s probably his best acting performance and I was engaged as frick for it just being a guy in a car putting out fires the whole time

I have to be in a certain mood to even attempt an A24 movie. I finished the Lighthouse and wished I didn't. I thought it was a stupid movie and actually laughed at it. I saw Mr. Bean's Holiday a few weeks before and I couldn't separate Willem Dafoe's characters.

I got about halfway through Hereditary before realizing I wasn't in the mood for that shite and turned it off.

Probably the only one in A24's catalog that I haven't seen and am curious about because of all the hype around it is Uncut Gems. But I've got to wait until I want to watch a movie with a dark vibe.

While no one would call it a comedy, it definitely features an abundance of humor. Did you not think you were supposed to laugh at all the farting?

A24’s peak was from 2013 to 2019. Ever since then, they’ve been resting on their laurels.

The Spectacular Now was really a great film. Underrated.
