LSU is still obligated to this D1 thing for 2 more years after this. Jay said that LSU got a real good deal, so he's okay with it.

I think we hosted the old Winn Dixie Challenge back in Skip’s early years. It was LSU and two other Louisiana schools vs three schools from another state. I miss it.

Don't you think ESPN would air this if there was an audience for it worth broadcasting??
I GUARANTEE you they would. But it's college baseball, so they won't.

that was at the Superdome. LSU and Tulane hosted it together

I mean, I don’t know how much profit they actually make off this. They may be making money from sponsors, but who would pay for this bs? The quality is terrible, people having trouble streaming, the guy keeping up with the tv scoreboard must be a five year old, and just an overall bad product. The stands are mostly empty as well so can’t be selling that many tickets. I’ll just listening until normal tv returns next week.

gonna let you in on a secret. ESPN doesn't make money broadcasting regular season college baseball either. Were it not for it being a part of their overall TV deal with the conference, our other games wouldn't be on TV either

Aaron Fitt, Eric Sorenson, and yes even Kendall Rogers all deserve some kudos for bringing media coverage to college baseball starting all the way back in the early to mid-90s.

There are Power 4 / west coast teams looking for away series in 2027, and are probably willing to come down to Baton Rouge to play a round robin tournament
Weekend 1:
Iowa
BYU
Cal Poly
Gonzaga
UC San Diego
Weekend 2:
Kansas
Michigan State
BYU

I wish they would do like basketball does where they do like: sec vs acc or something like that. But instead of it being x amount of teams playing some at home and some away, make it a rotating tournament. LSU, Texas, and Aggies vs (Louisville, Cali, and Stanford) in Houston. While Florida, Georgia, and south Carolina plays UNC, Clemson, Georgia Tech in Atlanta. And change the stadiums and teams every year.
Stagger the start times where there are 3 games at each event a day, but 6 starting times. Yes, they would lap each other but you can have some on ABC and ESPN. Or ESPN2.

But our other games are on tv. Along with many other sports that don’t make money. What’s your point or what’s the secret I’m missing? Gymnastics was on espn last night and women’s basketball is always on.

I mean, if it was in Baton Rouge they absolutely would. Just like they do for every other home game.
