Ive regularly employed a Hispanic contractor since 2009. He came here as a teenager and managed to gain American citizenship. Has a state contractors license, social security number and insurance, extremely intelligent and hard working.
He has told me several times that once his employs have been here 8-10 years they become Americanized. Show up late, want to leave early, complain all the time etc.
He said he prefers men that just came across the border. All they want to do is work.
I’ve employed several Hispanic crews and witnessed most of the ups and downs myself. Many people believe that Hispanics work cheap.
They are not cheap! they charge the same or more than the average American crew. (If you can even find one)
They are worth it because they show up on time, stay late, don’t complain and do a better job.
You get a bunch of white guys out there and all they do is complain, argue with each other, and whine about how hard the job is,
They leave cigarette butts all over the yard, cuss at each other LOUDLY, are either high on drugs or smell like booze, need to borrow money every day cause “baby needs diapers.” Or they are turning my electricity off today.
The Hispanic crews show up on time, stay until the job is done, ask where the next job is and like to be paid on Friday.
You don’t have to babysit them.

I don't know about that. Wifey and I were tooling around town running errands. We noticed blacks with 5 gallon buckets and signs at stop light trying to sell raffle tickets or something. I told her to look at that building going up and who do you see in the yard? We passed by a new bridge going up on the frontage road.
