K-12 teachers should be first. I mean if AI can do the work then AI can also teach.

The more things change the more things stay the same. I pray the first to go are the government employees who can barely spell digital.

I don't think Elon and his ilk actually know what most ppl do behind those computers.
They think everyone is coding apps.

There has to eventually be an inflection point, right? Businesses and corporations choosing profits over people on this scale doesn't seem sustainable. People will revolt against a future like that, right?

I’m just ready for AI to take my order and make it at a fast food restaurant

AI/robotics will be able to do repetitive jobs very well. Even your surgeons will eventually push a "self-driving" button to dissect straight down to a tumor/mass. Sure, you'll still want a "co-pilot" in the room with the patient, but THAT person could be any moderately skilled troubleshooter. The "surgeon" will be sitting in a room in Dubai or something operating on a dozen people at the same time.

ChatGPT has been great for learning and drilling algebra and geometry. It is super interactive and teaches better than sitting in a classroom.

I run a company full of
sheet metal workers
pipe fitters
sprinkler fitters
electricians and controls techs
plumbers
service technicians
I sure hope they don't figure out they don't need me "running things" for another decade or so...............

It will be an interesting time 20-30 years into the future. The educated people will mostly be enthusiast/hobbyists. Most people will dumb-down to the path of least resistance. Why bother with skills like algebra when your pocket AI will solve all problems for you? No need to speak much either. You'll basically communicate via telepathy as your thoughts will quickly be sent to your desired target. All of this typing will be a thing of the past once the brain implants happen.

I want to wash my car. The car wash is 50 meters away. Should I walk or drive?

Why would someone want to sit behind a desk eating cheetos, fritos, or doritos while looking at a screen and typing on a keyboard all day? How is it healthy?
Can you even imagine how much more productive we will become, how well we will feel mentally, physically, and spiritually? We will no longer be confined to the desk, munching cheetos, fritos, or doritos.
We will be free at last. Free at Last!!

If AI can salve the phone tree problem in custservice where each person asks me for my name and home address, that’d be okay.
I heard roosters crowing in the background, last week when I called Labcorp about a bill I got.

How did it make you feel about your bill? Did it soften your mood. The power of AI is real.

I repair structural metal and troubleshoot PLC and robotics along with some boiler work and automation.
Until Musk makes robots that can fix themselves and other robots, change out relays and contractors, and manually break down and clean fire tubes and combustion systems, thankfully I think I'll be ok.
I might be the only breathing body left in the facility, but I'll be here.
