Say goodbye to your American audience
Need proof? How about replacing fans in the stands with LED lights because the seats are empty? Can't even fill 1/4 of the arena for All-Star Weekend. They are toast

Got nothing to do with going global. They moved to NBC and Silver couldn't strong arm them into getting the primetime slot over winter Olympic reruns so allstar Saturday night was at 2 in the afternoon. They also assembled the worst collection of star power in dunk contest history.

It was full during the dunk contest.
That picture was taken during the dunk contest trophy presentation... 10 minutes after the dunk contest, the final event of the night, ended. Everyone was leaving, just like people leave sporting events once the final out is made or the clock hits zero and don't stay en masse for whatever the postgame festivities are.
And the NBA didn't put those LED lights there for All Star Weekend. The brand new Intuit Dome has always had those.
The NBA product as a whole is lame as frick right now and the dunk contest is usually fricking dreadful, but what you're doing here is hella disingenuous to make that point.

Adam Silver is such a trash commissioner. He's no doubt responsible for its current decline. It's a shame because the NBA has the opportunity to bounce back to where it used to be, but this clown will keep it from doing so.

They need to hit a hard reset on the league when LeBron, Draymond, Harden, and that era all retire over the next 3 years. Between this years rookie class and next years, there is potential to get back the common fan.

Standing room only...
People who don't want to admit the NBA play sucks, the product is awful and fan-hostile and a shell of the golden age of the 80s are in some serious denial.
People who like this product now only do so because that's all they kinda know the last 20 years, lacking any real experienced compare and contrast in their sports life.
