Is this years baseball team better 1-9 than last year's lineup?

It just feels like 1-9 is capable of launching bombs. Jays last team at Arizona was insane. I think just about all his hitters were batting over 300.

maybe, Maybe not. It’s been 1 game so it’s kinda hard to judge

Plus it will take 4-5 weeks maybe longer for Jay to determine a solid lineup and rotation.

I'll let you know in June. Right now, let's enjoy watching them settle into their positions and build a team.

Hard to say right now. Going to need to see how the the bottom half of the lineup shakes out.

Yes, this team averages 15 runs a game. That's like a record or something.

Not so far. They're having trouble with a Horizon League rag arm.

As dumb as this thread is, this is an incredibly dumb way to look at it considering it's the same guys as last year, just flipped positions.

Maybe hitting, but certainly inferior defensively.

They didn’t look superior today. Maybe we should give them several weeks before we start comparing them to other years.

I mean probably as that was likely one of the best defensive team we’ve ever had. But we also haven’t seen anything to say this year they won’t be great in that department either.

we’ll see.

love a lot of the pieces

Biggest concern is power hitting

There are guys who can get it done but i feel like we lack a single 20+ HR guy.

LF played center and center played LF. They switched positions. And the present Center fielders was better than the former.

You watched Yorke and Arambide swing a bat and concluded that they lack 20 HR power?

I think Arrambide has the power not sure about the contact

I think Yorke has the power but he’s been a contact over launch angle guy his whole career.

Statistics from last year show steps backward at third and second, and I refuse to believe Yorke is not a step back at first. I think CJJ sacrificed some defense this year for offence.

Outfield all back so most likely better this year. Shortstop back so most likely better. First base won’t be as big of a step back as you’d think. Yorke put up very good fielding percentages every year he’s played there. Second, third, and catcher potentially all steps back. Like I said, probably not as good. But far from a bad set up. And nothing we’ve seen these first two games say it’ll be bad.
