Not once have I heard this guy admit he doesn’t belong coaching at this level and not once has he taken responsibility for such a terrible product.

Strangely enough it's kinda a Brian Kelly situation financially where he's not gonna step down bc financially he lose out.
So you have to fire him.
So you have to fire him.

Losing by 30 at home. Nail in the coffin.

If you sucked at your job, would you tell your boss to fire you?

Is there an example in the history of sports of a coach saying something like this?
Like yeah he’s terrible but are you actually expecting a coach to say “ I suck at my job, don’t belong here, and I quit.”?

I’ve never sucked at my job, but would think that he and I would come to the conclusion together…and I would have enough pride to openly question my ability to the job I was hired to do.

He’s just stealing from the University at this point

Yes, Steve Spurrier when he stepped down from South Carolina.
quote:
Spurrier said it's "time for me to get out of the way and let someone else have a go at it. ... I was the best coach for this job 11 years ago, but I'm not today."

Trent Johnson basically admitted he couldn’t hack it here when he left for TCU.
Mchallman won’t do that

What coach would? No one should expect him to go the podium and say "I don't belong here and I'm not good enough." Coaches say things like "I haven't done a good enough job and I have to do better."
It's obvious that he can't hack it; lacks the fire and intensity, is incapable and unsuited to coach at this level. I wanted him to succeed but he fails at every level: recruiting, development; X's and O's, program management and all the rest.
I imagine that his buyout is structured to pay him his salary monthly for the term and not a lump sum. I can't imagine that he survives past this season.

6200 fans showed up; that sums it up. Sad part is the team doesn't even look like its getting better.

He's not a coward and a chump. He's overwhelmed. Even he knows that by now.
Posted on 2/11/26 at 6:16 am to lsufball19
You're right. And you're responding to a child with zero life experience.
Posted on 2/11/26 at 6:21 am to PurpleSingularity
So you want him to publicly state that he's a terrible coach and doesn't belong in the job that he has? lol.

Spurrier was old and retired. That's apples and oranges to what's going on with McMahon
No middle-aged coach with a family is going to willingly quit and walk away from millions of dollars. The world just doesn't work that way, regardless of how bad he is at his job. Anyone expecting different is a moron. He's going to make LSU fire him like any other coach in his position would do. No, he's not gong to say at a press conference that he's a bad coach and the job is too big for him. Again, you're not living in reality if you think a coach in his position would actually do that.
