ICE loses current funding if DHS is shut down. BBB funds cannot be used. Dems know.

Rosemary Jenks (Immigration Accountability Project Cofounder and Policy Director) just explained this on War Room.

BBB funds only newly hired ICE and border patrol. Agents hired before the bill will not get paid and operations will be shut down if the government shuts down.

I have heard the exact opposite of this - that DHS/ICE is 80% funded via OBBBA through 2029.

Is it confirmed that operations will be shut down? Depending on how the federal agents are classified, they may still be required to work even if they are not paid until the shutdown is resolved.

no it doesn't. A quick google will give you answers. ICE is funded for a while through the OBBB. This is all for show.

quote:

ICE funding is not in a shutdown. Despite ongoing congressional disputes over Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding, ICE continues to operate with a substantial, multi-year funding, including a $75 billion supplement from a 2025 law. While a partial government shutdown was averted in February 2026, negotiations continue regarding ICE oversight and operational changes.
Funded Operations: ICE is not relying on the current, temporary funding bills to operate. It has enough resources to continue operations, including detention beds, for several years

Dems shutting down our federal law enforcement apparatus to protect their illegal invaders is exactly why you should own guns, stockpile ammo, and shoot your guns regularly.

Wrong, they will still work but not get paid until funding is approved.

This is correct.... Grok summarized Senator Johnson explaining this on the Shawn Spicer podcast.

quote:

Relevant Context from Sources:Johnson has emphasized that DHS elements like ICE are already funded for years ahead (e.g., through September 2029 via prior appropriations in bills like the BBB-era packages or subsequent funding acts), so shutdown threats are more about optics or other agencies (FEMA, TSA, etc.) rather than total defunding of border/security enforcement.

You're telling me that the $19 billion of supplemental funding already appropriated (that's 19 billion for last year, this year, the next year, and the year after that) is only for "new hires"?

If that's the case......frick em.

I think that’s what she meant. It’s a little confusing. I’m still trying to figure out what gets cut.

quote:

3. Personnel and pay: work continues, pay may not

While enforcement operations can proceed under existing balances or administrative orders, ICE employees are likely to be required to continue performing duties during a shutdown even if Congress has not provided immediate appropriations; reporting notes that employees would not receive pay until funding is restored, raising personnel and morale strains despite continuing operations [3][2]. The OMB and agency shutdown guidance also contemplates plans to keep mission-critical activities running, which in practice has meant staff staying on the job in prior lapses [2].

quote:

4. Short-term political levers: stopgaps, limited extensions, and leverage for reform

Congress and the White House have repeatedly used short-term funding extensions for DHS as bargaining chips—recent bills extended ICE funding only through February 13 or provided narrow stopgaps while broader appropriations were approved for other agencies—creating recurring “budget cliffs” that compress negotiations over reforms into short windows [5][9][10]. That political dynamic means a shutdown’s principal impact can be leverage: Democrats have withheld support to press for operational reforms such as warrants, body cameras and limits on masking, while Republicans and the administration have resisted some measures, producing cycles of temporary funding and renewed talks [11][12].

Not true

I believe it's over 85% funded through the year.

Is this why conservatives aren't panicking about the Dem BS? Where do these ignorant jackasses get their brains? It must be a Dem thing to be so stupid.

It is. It's yet another case of DJT being moves ahead of the usual suspects within the Beltway.

If the only governmental function that persists is ICE to continue deporting illegals, that's totally fine by me.

There you go…trusting another lying Democrat Operative pushing a narrative to drive reaction and herd the sheep in the direction or action they want. If it’s a Democrat, and their lips are moving, better than a 90% chance they are lying. Evil people.

No, they would rather watch the Democrats do it in 2028. They are perfectly happy with a packed Supreme Court and the new States of Puerto Rico and DC.

Well she's wrong.

ICE and CBP were both funded to the tune of around $75B each through 2029. Don't let them lie to get you to get behind some other crap they want to cram in there.
