POTUS Trump will not allow new bridge from Canada to open until we get PAID!!

I’m still trying to understand this issue. Canada bought land on the Michigan side of the border, then constructed the bridge entirely out of their own funds (in the process avoiding using required American suppliers/contractors), but then leased the land on the Michigan side back to the U.S. for them to run their customs and border checks, so Trump is refusing to open the bridge?

It is my current understanding (I could be wrong), but Canada paid for the entire cost to construct the bridge. However, they’re now charging the U.S. rent for the property where customs and border control are operating from.
