Going to try alcohol. I did it for the entire month of September last year so 10 more days shouldn't be too awful.

A couple of years ago I tried to give up cursing... that lasted all of 3 hours.

Why would you give up alcohol the first month of football season? Terrible timing. But also, not hard at all to give up.

Probably this but I've got a head start. Last drink was 1/31

I stopped giving up things a long time ago and instead try to make lent a season of action. Whether that is reading the bible every day or make more of an effort in my daily prayers

That was my go-to for quite a while but since I'm not big on any religion, it seemed pointless except for shite and giggles. I was born and raised Catholic, but have not been into religion for many decades now and find it pointless, so you Bible thumpers can go pound sand and downvote away.

I'd not drink a single drop from Mardi Gras Tuesday night until Easter Sunday. It was easy for me to do that, but really pointless since I put no meaning to the whole Lent thing. So, many years ago I decided to just give up giving up things for Lent. Also, it's been my experience that people who give up things for Lent are pretty much like people who make New Year's resolutions that go by the wayside in short order.

Alcohol, I did last year, and it was a nice change. I was never a heavy drinker, but giving it up last year had me slow down even more in the non lenten months.

Usually I give up alcohol. This year I am toying with giving up drinking alcohol unless I am drinking with someone else. Wife does not really drink, so either I need to get a lot more social or I'll essentially be giving up drinking entirely.
