He had to apologize because he said immigrants built this country instead of blacks at the Grammys. Imagine having to constantly appease one group if you say something about another. Just constant virtue signaling

Irish, English, Italian, German, Russian, Jewish, etc. immigrants built this country. All those skyscrapers and industrial revolution in Northeast were not built by 'black people'. Just compare Europe to Africa over the last 400 years. One was advanced the other not.

It doesn't matter what they have built on their own. Their ancestors were used to drive the economy for a longer period of history than the time after they were freed. They are as much a part of the American story as the Mayflower descendants. They are not the same as the Somalis scamming our system, and should not be thought of that way.

This is no different from the Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter discussion. Libs get pissed because BLM doesn't get enough emphasis when you say All Lives Matter. Well, if you say immigrants built this country, that includes immigrants of all backgrounds but you've gotta be sure that there's an asterisk attached with a special notation to black people because apparently they deserve greater attention than all others since they brought their technology from Wakanda to Western Civilization.

He is right about Immigrants building this country.
People are going to be mad, But mainly immigrants of European descent built this country. Go look at any old time pictures of towns being rebuilt after natural disasters, buildings being built, roads being built, highrises being built, its all european descended whiteys.
Other than the Cotton exports, and railroads, it was mainly Euros doing the hammering.

Went extinct because of technology and innovation. Hence how the industrial revolution became a thing which 'black people' contributed very little to nothing to. The 'new' America was built by Immigrants from Europe under extremely hostile working conditions to put mildly. With or without the Civil War slavery was on the way out due to innovation and technology.
