"We Built This City" is often labeled as the Worst/most annoying song of all time. BS.

Real World evidence does not support that claim.
Blender magazine put out a now infamous list of 'The 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs of All Time", in which they proclaimed Starship's "We Built This City" as number 1.
It's a terrible list created by people with terrible taste in music. The list has "Achy-Breaky Heart" and "Don't Worry Be Happy" on it, which doesn't sound too bad. But it also has "The End" by The Doors, "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel, "Horse with No Name" by America, "True" by Spandau Ballet, and "Heart of Rock and Roll" by Huey Lewis and the News.
To prove that "We Built this City" was the worst/most annoying song, they had one of their journalists stay in a soundproof booth for 24 hours while the song played through speakers the entire time.
He comes out merely annoyed and tired of hearing the song and proclaims that they were right and that nobody deserves to go through that.
My counterpoint: Van Halen's "Panama" drove a dictator to give himself up to the US Military after having to listen to it being blared on repeat over loudspeakers outside the church he was hiding in.
One song annoyed a pretentious journalist, the other made a man willingly abandon his freedom just to not have to listen to it anymore.
Which one truly is the most annoying song ever?
BTW: This comes from watching this Youtube video

It is most definitely crap.. but I find this song to be the most annoying "hit" of all time... nails on a chalkboard..

It is fashionable to hate on the Peter Wolf "dynamic duo" (Wolf also worked with Wang Chung on "Everybody Have Fun Tonight", sometimes touted as the worst song of all time), but I'm not sure We Built This City is the "worst" Starship song, much less worst of all time.
I mean, I like it, but isn't Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now an objectively worse song than We Built This City? Again, I like Sara, but at least WBTC is fun.
So, back to the placement/ranking: Objectively, Achy Breaky Heart is almost certainly the worst non-rap Top 5 in the history of the Hot 100. I'm not sure it is even particularly close. Disco Duck, Informer, Bad Day, WBTC, Everybody Have Fun Tonight, etc., seem like Beethoven compared to that schlock.

I said I liked it. I said I liked Sara. I was just pointing out that, maybe, from a musical standpoint, they might be worse than WBTC.
That's literally all I'm saying. (Mickey Thomas was a great, great singer.)
