Interesting. I have heard of wind farms causing issues with wales and birds, but this is a new one for me.

I hope they send all that un-recyclable trash back to chyna.

Maybe an accommodation to Texas, just focusing off shore?

Most of the turbines here are land based, and responsible for 30% of the power generation.

Stupid.

People don’t realize there is an energy arms race (AI & data centers) and we’re getting crushed by China. Arguing about solar, drilling, “clean coal” etc. it’s all a waste of time.

The answer is “yes, and…” not “either this or”. We need ALL of it.

Data centers are now required to generate their own electricity.

Do we need dead whales and birds? Shattered turbines littering the beach and ocean with fiberglass? These are the things offshore wind farms are best at. We can generate power safely and cleanly with nuclear.

We should continue to do everything we reasonably can to mitigate environmental negative impacts, yes.

Nuclear is absolutely the future but has miles of red tape and the SNRs still take ages to get online. Solar and wind will have a role.

Our economy is gonna get crushed if our competitors have a fraction of the energy costs we do. We won’t be able to make anything.

There is a net energy loss associated with wind turbines. I mean, there is a reason we quit using wind as our main energy source a couple centuries ago, but you go ahead and do that ghetto shite.

Wind is garbage and completely inefficient. China takes the BILLIONS we send them for wind components and builds coal plants. We’re suckers and they know it.
Luckily we have a president who understands that now instead of one who’s shitting his pants while taking millions in bribes from the Chinese through his son. You know the “big guy” always gets his cut

I’m sorry, are you comparing wind technology today to centuries ago?

That can’t actually be your point

Patently false.

They’re producing more than double the energy the US is producing and they’re in rapid expansion mode (nuclear, wind, and solar specifically). Put another way, their lead is only getting bigger for the foreseeable future.

Competing w China is already challenging. If their energy costs are a fraction of ours it will continue to make everything worse. These are the basics of capitalism.

You said "There is a net energy loss associated with wind turbines" (source?) which is in itself a ridiculous claim in 2026. Global production of wind energy has doubled in the last decade with no signs of slowing.

Then you made an obscure reference to literally centuries ago like it meant something. You didn't offer anything of merit.

Yep, it sure has. Hydrocarbon industry thanks you greatly.

Modern windmills = still a net energy loss. Has a lot to do with that whole reliabilty thing. Not of the windmill itself mind you. The wind.

But you go ahead and keep saving the planet baw. We are so proud of you.
