I have a pool but unfortunately did not have autofill put in when built..
I can use a pool sentry that just fits on the side and have done so in the past..
I leave my house sometimes for a few weeks— months.. in the past I just ran a high end garden hose from my faucet to the pool filler.. I worry sometimes about the hose bursting..

I have thought about making a pex line ( not experienced in this)… any suggestion for the best quality hose you would leave pressured water in during the summer while away?

in the summer or winter? It’s ain’t gonna spontaneously combust unless it’s below freezing and even then as long as one end is not connected to anything the pressure has a place to go. You can run pex if you want all you need is a fitting at the supply (typically a male barb) and then a couple sticks of 3/4” pex or a roll cut to length which you can get at any plumbing supply house, and some crimp rings and crimper. But same issue if connected to a fixture at the discharge

I don't know if there is any hose I'd trust leaving unchecked for weeks. I have had a black hose burst in the summer sun that I left on....it may've been a connection pop out actually. Either way, hose water left outside in peak sun can get scalding hot and probably exceed the temp rating of the hose.

Pex would be much better but would cost a couple hundred to get started with the cheaper pex-b. Might look like crap and wouldn't be near as moveable as a hose.

You could get a timer and set it to only run 15min a day or however long the sentry needs to refill the pool.

If nothing else, just crack the water valve so if there is a blowout you aren't running full blast for days/weeks.

This is a clever idea…

PEX shouldn't be exposed to sun, it will degrade.

I would not leave any plastic (hose or PEX).pressurized and exposed to sunlight for very long.

The best is Eley. The price may give you sticker shock but they come with a 10 year warranty. All of their products are bullet proof.

The best is what you get at an industrial hose supply store. Somebody who is an Aeroquip or Parker dealer. Google up your nearest one and call them and tell them what you want. Itll be expensive and heavy as hell and basically indestructible.
