He's going to execute Brian Kelly's plan that he could not.

While I agree, the fun from the portal came from the very short time frame. 40 players in 2 weeks will always be more exciting than 20 over a full year.

Yep. You’re definitely right.

Portal recruiting will always be more exciting than high school. You get more players in a shorter amount of time.

Also, it’s more likely that portal players will make an impact immediately. They’re older and more physically mature. Also, many of them have already proven themselves to be good college football players, unlike little kids from high school.

I don't know, I really enjoyed National Signing Day years ago.

The Randall / Shepard class, Fournette signing, Ride for Five, etc.

I had trouble working those days!

What's behind this optimism. Kiffin is not known for his high school recruiting historically.

I agree but do really think that LSU will need a lot of transfers every year.

Well, all I feel like I keep seeing is Lane visiting either the number 1 player at their position or the 1 player in whatever state he is traveling that day ;)….as he has seemed to have cloned himself

nope. but even it were only 15, the logic still applies. that would still be more than one commit a day.

I suspect it'll be a great class but not necessarily large. Schools are gonna start hedging on paying major bucks for ha kids thar are just gonna tease their price while doing nothing for 2 years. Use the Jaime French time at Texas as an example. He wasnt cheap out of hs and didnt do anything as a freshman. Also failed to budget in his asking price. Texas said goodbye after a year of tooting their horn about landing him and that #1 class that looks for different now. Buyers remorse.

I'm looking forward to the HS class as much as anyone, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

But that two week stretch of 40 players.....that was incredible.

I've never hit refresh (on this page in such a short time) so many times in my life

It’s kind of hard to recruit high school kids when you are trying to get them to go to Oxford, Mississippi
