So I thought it was my phone. I just dealt with it. But now I have a different phone. When my entire page is an X post I can't scroll down. I've had this issue for a while. I have to back out and reload then scroll before the embed loads or if they have any spot not part of the embed I can grab it there.
. Very odd issue. Only x posts. Don't have this issue on my iPad. Only on my phones. S22 Ultra and s25ultra running chrome.

I asked gemini to view the code from TD.com with a twitter embed to see if it could find a potential problem.

It came up with some possible issues.

quote:

It looks like you're dealing with a classic responsive design conflict specific to how Chrome on Android calculates "intrinsic" widths for third-party embeds (like Twitter/X). The code you provided uses a mix of fixed-width size mappings and a viewportWidth_td variable. On mobile, if an embed (like the Twitter block in your pText div) doesn't have a strict container limit, Chrome will sometimes expand the parent container to fit the embed's "natural" size, causing the "too large" or "zoomed out" effect.

quote:

1. The CSS "Hard Stop" (Recommended) Add this to your stylesheet to ensure that no matter what a script tries to inject, it cannot exceed the width of the mobile screen.

/* Force embeds to respect the parent container width */
.pText iframe,
.pText .twitter-tweet,
.pText {
max-width: 100% !important;
width: 100% !important;
overflow-x: hidden;
box-sizing: border-box;
}

I asked Gemini if there were ways to fix this client side, and it seems you can either use the Stylus extension to override site settings or even make a bookmark to "shrink" the page if it gets too big.

quote:

. The Permanent Way (Chrome Extensions) If you want a specific site's embeds to always be small, use a "User CSS" extension like Stylus or User CSS. Install: Stylus (Chrome Web Store). The Code: Create a new style for the site and paste this:

/* Targets all common embed types */
embed, iframe, video, object {
max-width: 800px !important;
max-height: 600px !important;
width: auto !important;
height: auto !important;
}

quote:

3. The "Ad-Hoc" Bookmarklet If you don't want to install an extension, you can create a "Bookmarklet" that you click whenever a page is too cluttered with giant embeds. Create a new bookmark in your Chrome Bookmarks Bar. Name it "Shrink Embeds." For the URL, paste this code:

quote:

javascript:(function(){let style=document.createElement('style');style.innerHTML='embed,iframe,video{max-width:500px!important;max-height:500px!important;}';document.head.appendChild(style);})();

Having same issue.. I cant scroll past the X embed if I grab the embed frame and try to swipe down.

If I can get hold of the TD border on either side or top/bottom, I can scroll past it. Not always possible once the X embed takes up most of the screen.

Maybe make X embeds narrower?

I posted some solutions in the second post to work around until the TD webmaster implements a fix.
