Season 2 is out now with two episodes released so far.

Very underrated show (thanks to Esquire and Bunchie for the recommendation) and not surprising that it is so good given how quality Apple TV has been for a while now. If you haven't watched yet, I'd highly recommend. The writing is top tier.

Brief synopsis for those that haven't heard of it:

quote:

Drops of God (French: Les Gouttes de Dieu; Japanese: ???, romanized: Kami no Shizuku) is a French-American-Japanese television series created by Quoc Dang Tran, directed by Oded Ruskin and starring Tomohisa Yamashita and Fleur Geffrier. It is based on the manga series of the same name written by Tadashi Agi and illustrated by Shu Okimoto. The series centres on the competition for inheritance of an estate and its vast wine collection between an heiress and a star student of a well-known oenologist who died. However, the former experiences severe side effects related to her childhood trauma and the latter's family complicates the process.

Anybody watching season 2 yet? I've only watched the first episode so far.

Yes. I stumbled upon Season one a couple weeks ago and loved. Great characters and character movement. Really enjoyed it. Just started S2 and am enjoying it. One of my favorite things is coming across great shows that fly under the radar.

I'm going to hold off until the season is done, then binge.

Yeah, I'd never heard of it until a few weeks ago when someone posted a thread on how S2 was coming out soon and that S1 was really good. I was hooked pretty quickly and knocked it out over a weekend. This is a perfect time for anyone that hasn't seent it to give it a try. I thought S1 mostly improved as the season went along, but you probably only need 2 episodes to figure out whether or not you will enjoy it.

I’ve watched the first episode so far and I like the premise of the new competition. I’m pretty sure the manga it was based on only covered the events of season 1 and we are in completely new territory with this season.

Will try to watch the next episode tonight. New episodes release Tuesdays 8pm CST.

I’m probably going to check this out soon due to y’all’s recommendations. About to finish up S3 of Foundation and need to catch up on a few latest episodes of current shows, but this was really next on my list. Poignant time for the thread.

Yea I feel pretty confident you'd like it. Might not be your favorite but it's at least worth a shot and a pretty unique story.

I was planning on waiting for the next season of Severance to re-up AppleTV but I might just do it for this

Not sure if you've watched them or not, but the two Seth Rogen comedies on there are pretty great. I'm not a big Rogen fan by any means but The Studio is freaking hilarious and worth a shot if you do sign back up. Shrinking as well. The third season of it just started. That's my favorite comedy since probably Vice Principles on HBO.

Drops of God
Shrinking
The Studio
Platonic
Pluribus
Chief of War (haven't watched but heard it's surprisingly good)
Murderbot

There's a good bit of newish stuff that could make signing back up worth it.

S1 was great. S2 doesn’t have me as hooked but we still got a ways to go

This last episode was the first time I was kind of annoyed with a main character.

**S2 EP2 Spoiler**

Camille is starting to be a bit of a brat. Just pouring the rare, 30k+ bottle of wine down the drain just because she was a little upset is ridiculous. She's absolutely loaded and inherited a fortune and she is still mad at the world over every little thing. I get being pissed in S1 over what he was having you do to get an inheritance, but now you're literally a multi multi millionaire, life ain't that bad.

The worst part of that scene was watching Phillipe stand there in shock with his empty wine glass. She could have let him try it first. Narratively I can see why they did it after Issei told her to send the wine in for analysis. Seems weird that Leger didn’t do that. I’m Team Issei so I’m fine with getting annoyed by Camille’s antics.

Hoping to watch the third episode tomorrow.

Season one was fantastic. Can't wait to start season 2. So many good shows no one on here has watched from Apple TV.

Agreed. Apple TV has some of the best quality content, rivals real HBO.

ETA: Start with Severance. Best show in last 10 years. My Opinion.

Nice. Enjoy it alright?

Finished S2 EP3 last night so I'm caught up. The places they are traveling to in S2 is pretty incredible. Story isn't quite to par as S1 though.
