Interesting at 37 if thinks a new contract (higher multi-year) can be had. He had a good year, and it's a bit crazy for his age, but I think he's a tad delusional about getting high-end DE $$.
I'd be sad if he goes, but it does not seem reasonable.

He didn’t ever say he wants high end DE money
Posted on 2/2/26 at 6:46 am to Proximo
He did say there is no hometown discount this time.
Posted on 2/2/26 at 7:50 am to t00f
what he is saying is no more heavy incentive contracts.

Cam what ever he does is not playing anywhere else. DD perhaps if a playoff team wants to buy his services

Then he can go. I love Cam, but there’s no way I would give him a fully guaranteed contract after he finally has another good season……..on an incentive laden contract
Would love to have him back, but it needs to make sense. This team is in desperate need of guards and weapons on offense. The money in FA needs to be spent at G (most importantly). If they can fit Cam and Demario into it, great.

He said I can’t play for half off again. He played for $6.5mm without incentives
Even $20mm isn’t high end DE money

Calais Campbell age 37 contract with the Falcons was 1yr/$7 mil in 2024. This past year it was 1yr/$2mil
Just as productive as Jordan if not more. Account for the rise in cap and you cannot go over $10mil for Jordan

1st of all, fix your thread title. Makes it sound like it’s a done deal

Technically the thread title makes it sound like Cam got a new phone number

He’s saying that Cam alluded to the fact that he doesn’t want another incentive laden contract.
My response to that was that if he doesn’t want an incentive based contract….the Saints should move on. Cam NEEDS an incentive based contract. It’s not some big coincidence that in a year where he had to hit thresholds to make more money…..he all of a sudden pops out a 10 sack season.
SOME of that is Staley’s scheme helped him…..but make no mistake, the incentives helped with that as well.

You don’t follow the team close enough then. It’s common knowledge that the was hurt most of 2023 and the dline coach played him out of position in 2024
He he an extremely high run defense grade as well. He needs to be back on a reasonable contract

Ignore me I read what was quoted wrong. xD

At this point pay him a respectable salary but this has to be his farewell tour.

Just looked up their stats, Jordan had much better stats.
Not arguing the premise of your post, just saying it’s not true that Campbell was just as productive if not more, than Jordan.

I have been watching the Saints RELIGIOUSLY since I was 4……I am now 44. You absolutely have a fair point about his injury in 2023 and the issue in 2024…..but those were not the only issues. He looked washed.
Even the local writers covering the team said that his contract needs to make sense for the team (incentive based). He will be 37. You are taking it as me bashing Cam, I’m not….. I love Cam. But this fanbase has LAMBASTED Loomis for paying guys for too long (on the wrong side of 30).
We all know he wants to be here, we would all love for him to be here……but they also need to be able to go spend on the OL in FA. Hopefully it all works out so everyone is happy
