Midterm worries....

I know a lot can change in 10 months, but if the election was held today I think the GOP would lose the House by 20-30 seats and lose the Senate as well, even losing states like NE, OH, and AK.
I think the GOP should prioritize resources to defending as many Senate seats as possible as those last for 6 years while House seats are only for 2 years. Hopefully we can ride this out and not lose the Senate and then Vance can win in '28 and then the census redistricting will help the GOP comfortably control the House and Presidency in the 2030's.
We have got to find some way to change the narrative on the immigration front as Trump is getting slaughtered by the current media narrative. Not wishing anyone being hurt, but odds are some leftist will assassinate ICE agents in the next few months and hopefully the pendulum will swing the other way in public opinion then.

Well gee, I think I will just stay home, all hope is lost.

If voters are basing their vote off of Trump while the gop does nothing then we have idiotic voters or worthless down ballot choices.

I mean, I don’t agree with everything Trump does. But he’s made good foreign policy strides. And he’s deporting a lot of people as he promised. And I think the deportation are bringing down rent in America.
So those things I’m pleased with them.
I don’t like it that he spends too much money.
Having said all that the media was always gonna trash and leading up to the midterms to try to get people to be negative against them

Since 1946, there have been 20 midterm elections. In 18 of them (about 90%), the president’s party lost seats in the House.
• On average, the president’s party loses about 26 House seats and about 4 Senate seats in midterms.

Are you also happy with him being all over the Epstein files?
Or are you torn?
Or are you torn?

The vast majority of conservative voters that got Trump elected in 24 are still there. The narrative you see is from fringe idiots that the MSM is amplifying. IMO, folks with common sense are looking at this and understand this is a George Floyd type push from a bunch of idiots with flaming TDS. The root that these dipshats are protesting is the current administration and President
Most Americans w/o TDS have figured out the temper tantrums that the current Dem Party is behind. The only demographic IMO still in play is suburban white women. Many have IMO have seen the light. Hopefully.

Any data to support that or just feels?

Many believe that the GOP is running out the clock on Trump. They have been slow in approving trumps nominees. How many judges have been approved? They stay in session to stop recess appointments. The pathetic GOP deserves what they get.

Yes, this is the norm. But IF it happens this time, the left will call it unprecedented and shout it from the roof tops that the right is being destroyed and Trump is being rejected!!

Absolute bullshite and why the GOPe always loses. There is and has always been a mandate.
Continue getting rid of them all and ignore any court order.

I really believe ( and I wish I didn’t) that the Dems will take control of of the House and Senate come election time
Posted on 2/1/26 at 6:11 pm to GeneralLee
Stop being so ate up. Go vote and get others like you to vote. All you can do really.

If the collective amnesia of this country is such to put the Dems back in charge of anything only two years removed from the disastrous Biden era …… then this nation will fully deserve what’s coming.
And it won’t be good.

So you think the libs are jumping ship that voted for Trump :honk:
Posted on 2/1/26 at 6:23 pm to Great Plains Drifter
Exactly. If throwing illegals out and a couple of morons' deaths in Minnafrickingsota throw the midterms decidedly to the left, we are royally screwed as a nation and ain't ever coming back.

wtf?
Anyone who says immigration is a problem for them, never voted for him to begin with.
FACT.

^^^ Absolutely. But in reality, Trump/MAGA has always just been a delay in the fall that is inevitable anyways. I’m afraid we woke up too late in the game.
