I saw a thread on this topic a year or two back that had some great recommendations. I should have bookmarked.

My 10-year old Ariat sole is finally separating. I’m pretty sure those were lower end of the brand (gifted by an ex) but looking for something different…Maybe one tier up.
Need recommendations (I guess $300-$400 range). Leather.

My Justin's were the most comfortable boot i have ever worn.

Fell apart in less than 2 years of light use.

I don't know what you do with that info but I miss those boots.

If the boots are in good shape just get some new soles put on.

Take it to your local boot repair and get a new sole. My old Ariats need the same done to them right now. Costs $50 or so. The new Ariat’s don’t seem to be the same quality as the older ones.

Ariat or Justins; for good and affordable, Dan Post, Anderson Bean, or Tecovas for in that or slightly above that price and more comfort.

Yes good shape otherwise- but relatively lightly used especially first 1/2 of life. Not sure it’s worth it for a cheaper brand, but I may go talk to a local repair shop and see what he says.
I’ll probably get a new pair regardless. I find myself wearing them more lately.

A. Never get Ariat.

B. Tecovas used to be better - I feel the PE money has led to shittier boots.

C. Lucchesse - classics.

D. Justin can be good, can also be shite.

E. Like most things, the more you spend the happier you will be with boots.

F. The Cartwright, by Tecovas, is a solid boot and right in the middle of your range. I'm on my third pair.

You need to be a frat fig or a queer with a man bun to wear Tecovas.

Send to Bedos Leatherworks. Hell make them better than when they came out of factory.

What wears out to make it a third pair?

Well...

The first pair I got was in 2019. The insoles wore out of them - I wore them for a while with inserts and was in a Tecovas store one day and mentioned it.

I will give Tecovas a ton of credit here as the manager said that's not right and gave me a free pair to replace the ones I had on my feet. That was in 2023.

I still wear those to this day - the only reason I got a new pair recently is because I wanted a "nicer" looking pair as the other ones became daily kickers.

I don't own a pair of Tecovas, but what specifically makes them for figs?
