yes I still listen to CDs at home and buy new new releases on CD. I also used to listen to CDs in the car but alas, they’ve phased out the CD player probably for good

Anyway, my 5-disc player/changer is on its last. The carousel only intermittently works and it has had a skipping issue for several years. It’s a JVC XLF254 if that matters, plugged into a kenwood receiver that works fine

Any recs on a new one? I just need it to plug into the amp and play the discs, that’s it

TIA

You might want to check Amazon, Crutchfield and Ebay.

I’m seeing this one being recommended online

LINK

Onkyo DXC390
Looks to be a simple 6-disc player with a carousel, no software or any other bullshite. If anyone has one of these I’d appreciate a review…the online reviews seem positive

They're $30-40 on Amazon. This decision can't possibly be worth making this thread.

I had a Sony carousel. Through my experience and seeing what’s gone on with friends, the thing that always seems to fail on these players is the carousel feature. Happened to me, looks like it happened to you. Personally, I’d avoid carousel or multi-disc players in general.

You can get something to satisfy the need you described for well under $100. I had a single disc Pioneer that lasted me for at least 30 years. I would go for something similar.

I came to recommend the onkyo. I watched a YouTube review of it a few weeks ago. I’d buy one.

You could probably get a used Bose at a reasonable price.

I just use my dvr player when I really want to listen to a cd - though I have to unplug one of the inputs to get clear audio.

I do miss the ol' 5 disc carousel set at random/shuffle to give me some mood music of my choosing for a couple hours.

right on, thanks that’s a good review and seems like exactly what I want. BTW I bought the JVC carousel I have in 1990 so I’d say I got my moneys worth

thanks all

My single disc Pioneer is a dual voltage unit I bought at the BX when I was stationed in England 87-91.
Still works perfectly.

Did anyone ever have the Sony 200 disc carousel...and then upgrade to the 300 when it came out?
