Saddle in an oak tree, surrounded by bigger oaks that are still dropping. I usually walk past all of this, back into the swamp bottom. Hoping they’ll feel safe coming to feed in here now that gun/primitive has been over for a while, and there hasn’t been hardly any pressure in the woods. I’d be very happy to shoot a doe at this point. Hell I’d be happy to just see a deer. It’s been a few days since that has happened. Good luck!

Hopefully today is the day Abear. You would think they would be moving around today with the barometric pressure dropping.

I hope so! I’m going scout my way into a spot I haven’t hunted before, but looks promising on the map. It’s early enough that if I don’t like it, I can back out and go somewhere else. I didn’t see anything this morning, but I found some really good rubs that weren’t there Wednesday when I hunted that area. I have an idea where he’s bedding too. I think I’m gonna try to set up on him tomorrow evening.
I never really paid attention to the pressure much. Is a drop good? I probably should have documented pressure and moon phase on my hunt log, but honestly sometimes it feels like a lot to just remember to log them at all.

I didn’t see anything. This morning was my last hunt. I’ve been hunting these deer since October 4th. I’m calling it because of how exhausted I am and due to events coming up over the next weekends

Sitting in a ground blind along a trail. Been seeing a group of does on it the past few evenings on the camera. Target buck has gone MIA and this is probably my last hunt so unless it’s a yearling or small buck, it’s getting shot at. Good luck baws.

First thing I did when I got to the camp was pull out my Buddy heater and make sure it still works.... going to need it in the morning!

Scouted my way in to a new area midday. Jumped a rack buck that looked nice from what I could see. Pushed in further heading to a big slough I could see on the map. Right on the edge of the slough, I jumped a smaller buck with 3 does. I walked the slough down to the southern end of it and set up in a cypress tree. There’s a thick bottom along the slough, to the north of me, on the side I didn’t walk. I’m thinking there’s deer bedded in it, and hopefully they will come walking around this end of the slough where it’s dry.

Does showed up as scheduled. I got jittery and rushed a shot. Perfect broadside at 35 yards. Skimmed the back of a big one. Stupid on my part.

Saddle and platform

Sits 71 and 72. Final sits of the season since weather will suck tomorrow.

Morning sit was the same place as yesterday afternoon. Ended up seeing 6 does and 1 big deer. Didn’t see its head so not sure what it was. Let the does walk since the freezer is full.

Afternoon sit was near a different reforestation area. Saw 4 does but nothing else. It’s been a fun season. Good luck everyone!
