AppleTV lands rights to Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive

Apple has landed the rights to turn ‘MISTBORN’ into a film franchise & ‘THE STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE’ into a TV series.
Brandon Sanderson will write, produce and consult on all projects.

AppleTV running it and Sanderson is writing and producing it. Really couldn't have asked for a better situation to adapt these.

Nice. Mistborn as movies and Stormlight as a series is pretty much perfect.

He has long said that he has had many offers and come close but maintaining full control over most of it was a deal breaker

AppleTV has a lot of the most prestigious and best shows in streaming.
They are bleeding money but Apple doesn't seem to care because they are still producing some of the biggest, most expensive, and best content

How do you get the races correct in these though?
Mistborn is easy, race translates roughly the same.
Stormlight they don't at all. The Alethi (most of the main characters) are roughly Mongolian but with more Arabic skin color. Szeth is the only high level character with roughly Caucasian features. I guess maybe Shallan is somewhat close

Man I don't know, undertaking Stormlight in a non animated version is almost hard to imagine to me. It's so much. I mean I can't wait but I always just assumed if/when it got made, it was going to be animated.
I don't think you can pull that off. Going to have to be some race swaps.
Stormlight was so overwhelming for me by the end of book one this was pretty much every character in my head...

After reading everything (except for Wind and Truth) and talking about it here and on Facebook groups, I learned that I am in the very small minority that actually likes Mistborn Era 1 as much or better than Stormlight and Mistborn Era 2.

Man, I don’t at all.
Era 1 has some very amateur-ish prose. 2 is light years ahead. I prefer era 2 characters as well.
