WASHINGTON — Sens. Thom Tillis and Lisa Murkowski called for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign Tuesday, making them the first Republicans in Congress to say she should step down.

Asked whether he had confidence in Noem, Tillis, R-N.C., told reporters on Capitol Hill: “No, not at all. I think she should go.”

Tillis, who is not running seeking another term in Congress, said some of Noem's actions reflected "amateurish assistant-manager-sort of thought processes," calling them "unacceptable" for someone in a Cabinet-level position.

"If I were in her position, I can't think of any point of pride over the last year," he said.

Murkowski, R-Alaska, whose term runs until January 2029, said Noem should not be running DHS.

“Yes, she should go,” Murkowski told NBC News.

Two of the worst "Republican" senators in Congress. Don't be surprised if Bill Cassidy joins them.

Murkowski is the worst and the system in Alaska is completely rigged in her favor.

Noem's statement that Pretti planned a "massacre" was pretty stupid. I dunno if it warrants firing, though.

He'll come out in support of this; he can't help himself and it seems wherever Murkowski goes so does Cassidy.

What’s he got to lose at this point? He sees other Reps coming loaded for bear against him and there’s a decent chance they cannilbalize each other and he can at least make the runoff just from that. If he wins great if he doesn’t he can easily get a $4 million/year job consulting and lobbying and probably a seat on the board of directors of a biomedical/pharmaceutical company and all the perks that come with that. He’s in the rare position to say whatever he wants and act as he truly feels he needs to based on the direction of the globalist wind.

It warrants firing if Trump wants to find somebody who is better at the job.

At a minimum, Noem needs to quit lying.
