Authorities launched an investigation into his death and have since concluded that he died of natural causes.

In a Facebook post shared Wednesday, Williams’s parents, Jim and June, relayed the official autopsy report, which stated: “CAUSE OF DEATH: Atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease. CONTRIBUTORY: Obesity.”

“The short answer is…natural causes,” Jim explained of Williams’s death. “Our beloved son…your beloved friend…died, in essence, of a heart attack in his sleep from health issues he probably never knew he had.”

Williams started his YouTube career in 2009. His videos were filmed across all 50 states, where he visited urban locations, including theme parks and abandoned areas, as part of his channel The Daily Woo. He was known for his laidback approach, with many describing his videos as “calming.”

We'll be a better society when we can just say he died of obesity.

Agreed. It's been well over a 100 years since that would be considered fat in this country.

I'm not surprised by that news since he never came across as a drinker, smoker or drug user in his videos. By all accounts he was an extremely genuine and nice guy. I feel for his family and friends. Devastating to have someone taken from you so young and unexpectedly.

ETA - I was routinely checking his dad's channel to see the COD so thanks for posting.

Did he lose a lot of weight recently? The two pics in this thread don't scream obese...

Definitely not morbidly obese, but I bet his diet sucked arse with all the travel.

He doesn't look like a Woo. He looks more like a Smith or a Rodgers. Maybe a Terry.

He is the age where unchecked cholesterol gets you. I have had a few people I know drop dead at 50 from not getting regular check ups.

He wasn't grossly overweight but he certainly wasn't fit. He tried to get into running a few years back and gave up on that quick when he realized how out of shape he was.
You never know. My company's HSE manager in the UK dropped dead from a heart attack 2 weeks ago. 42 years old and extremely fit.

Ever heard of the widowmaker?

Heart attacks in the 6th decade of life are not rare. And they are not a recent phenomenon. And you don’t have to be 400 lbs.
