So you’re saying the weather pushed them out of the flooded corn? Interesting

Ice up and snow will do that and Arkansa had both depending on where you were. I suspect they can’t manipulate the water to prevent freezing or they will be in violation of federal laws because ice and snow protects plants from sun freezing temperature so that wouldn’t be a practice compatible with agriculture but a manipulation of agriculture for hunting.

We killed a 1/3 of a one-man limit. Spoony and a teal. Saw 4 wood ducks and 18 Canadian geese that mill around the area every year. And all in under 30-degree weather and everything iced up above us. Thanks DU.

Might have seen 200 ducks yesterday on a 40 mile loop around sweet lake. Zero specks hand full of geese on Cameron prairie nwr

Hunted in Hackberry Sunday. Saw more ducks jump than I've seen all year.

Saw more mallards, pintails and gadwalls yesterday than the entire season combined in NLA and they were all flying low. Not a single one would drop into decoys though, it was very odd. I was a few miles below the freezing rain and ice line and they were all traveling west to east.

4 man today. Mixed bag of mallards, teal, pintails, 1 gadwall, and widgeon.

Will see how the season finishes but 400 ducks on the year 200 mallards with gadwalls, teal and pintails 2nd-4th in numbers. 18 woodies, 4 shovelers. And 2 widgeon pulling up the rear. Solid year so far with only 29 hunts in the book

I think I saw about 30 more black jacks than we had before the front.
