Just going to say it. I know most of you either love or hate will Wade cuz we hear about it on every thread years after he's gone. It was a very exciting time for LSU basketball but his advantages are now gone.

He showed up at LSU and immediately started pulling kids from New York and other places seven states away that had no connection to Louisiana or Baton Rouge. Not sure he'd even unpacked yet and I remember saying this guy's either the best recruiter in college basketball or he's cheating. I know I know everybody was cheating but he had kids coming from long distances with no connection to a program that had been terrible for years. Just supposition, but I think he was more committed to passing out money than the average program even though there was money going under the table everywhere. So much more aggressive that he's making the calls himself and paying the funds out of his own checking account.

What's his value x's and o's? Was he Elite there. No. Good coach but that is not what set him apart. What he was best at is now legal.

Seriously, he was fun but for all you guys that are still begging for WW to come back. Now that money bags are completely out in the open and everybody's buying players what specific advantage does he have?

I'm not being argumentative, I'm really interested to the answer to that question.

Several errors in your post. The payment was out of his wife's checking account and it was to a player at a former school, not an LSU player.

To this day the NCAA has not convicted Will Wade of an NCAA violation. All they have is a comment in an FBI recording about a strong assed offer to Javonte Smart. They have not verified what the violation was and Javonte has never admitted such despite being under intense NCAA interrogation and a one game suspension.

Not really. He didn't have any major success recruiting going into year one. He had the good fortune that Georgetown fired its coach and Tremont Waters was released to sign elsewhere. I will give WAde credit ot the extent he had likley built up a prior relationship with Waters, but this stoke of good fortune is what allowed him to have success in the first season.

That being said if McMahon is replaced it won't be by Wade and its time for this crap regurgitation that he will return to end. I appreciate the job he dfi here and given the current landscape of college athletics its absurd the NCAA treated him and LSU as they did, but its time to move on whether with McMahon or not.on or not.

very well said... everyone wanting Wade back wants that winning feeling back, but like you said, the playing field is more equal now... now you actually need to be able to coach, and Wade has never been known as a gtreat X's and O's guy...

Nobody thinks MM gets another year.

WW is an elite coach, but he wants to win a natty and NC State is a great spot for him. He ain’t leaving to waste a year starting over again.

Beard is a great coach and would be hilarious. Kiffin’s trolling would be epic. I’d love for LSU bb to be fun to watch again. Would be interesting to see one of the faster pace offenses here. Not sure who else should be on the short list though.
