ICE Funding and Training

So, in light of recent events, I wanted to post this topic to ask a simple policy question.
Regardless if you think the most recent shootings are justified, I feel like there are some common things we likely agree with.
ICE’s budget has been set to $75 billion over the next four years. In a rush to get more agents on the streets, their training program is currently 8 weeks for ERO officers.
8 weeks and we send them out there armed, with wide latitude for lethal force, in what might potentially be very tense situations, and hope things work out. That feels like setting them up for failure.
I don’t know many professions that don’t require a degree or aren’t minimum wage that have such a short education period.
Wouldn’t it be a good for both agents and the people they interact with for them to get a more comprehensive training program?
I’m not familiar with law enforcement training, so if anyone who has experience could chime in, I feel that could be valuable.

Just glossing over the fact that dead brained retards are being pushed to intervene with ICE operations for theatrics. Because Swastika mens.
frick you. They're dead because of you. You're only want to push a political agenda.

You know what would be an even better idea? How about Dems stop encouraging their useful idiots to obstruct ICE officers while they perform their duties?
And here's another great idea - how about blue cities and states start cooperating with ICE/DHS, so we can deport illegals as quickly and efficiently (and safely) as possible?

Alright, sure, that needs to happen. I guess follow-up would still stand, couldn’t it be beneficial? Does it need to be an either or thing? Couldn’t both be true?

No matter how you train/teach, humans are error prone.
Things happen faster in real life as opposed to a training environment.
We have folks that know how to ___________ and they still aren’t 100%.
Intent matters.
Mistakes happen.
Professionals strike out, miss free throws, drop passes.
Of all the dumbassery in the streets by these idiots, there are two fatal incidents.
What’s that? 99.99% success rate daily?
Both would be alive had they stuck to “protesting”. But their “training” led them to their own demise. Maybe it’s their “training” that’s flawed?

They aren't graduating and going out and leading raids. A lot of their early career is learning on the job, just like most other jobs.

so your question literally boils down to glossing over the aforementioned major issues causing these incidents that the previous posters brought up, and you want to know if more job training is good?
Congratulations captain retard, you've cracked the code

8 weeks versus protesters forgetting their potty TRAINING and shitting in their diapers?
Think I chose the correct side.
But you’re right. Trump should be using the military to deport the trash. Far more effective.

Navy, Army, and Marine boot camp is about 10 weeks. Do you want the militarization of police or not?
It sounds like you want to have your cake and eat it too. You want police to remain personable and understanding but also demand extreme precision. You don’t get both when faced with
Pick one. Do you want Australian or UK style police, or efficient and precise?

Thank you for the actual response. I think it’s a fair point to bring up, but if we could get that number closer to 100% with another month (just an example) would that not be worth doing? Or do you feel extending things out to be pointless?

Both can be true but one of those things should be inconsequential.

I’m okay with some loss of life here.
I likely view it differently than you.
Not every life lost is a tragedy and deserving of mourning and grief. Many of these people don’t bring a net positive into this world. And the longer these useful idiots keep this behavior up, the more I view them as terrorist and enemies of the country.
Those that seek out trouble tend to find it. Accountability matters for the agitators…hell if your goal is to “agitate” don’t be surprised if you get bit.

I think there is definitely an impasse in how we feel about it, but that seems to be largely the consensus here. I’m not surprised, but I do thank you for articulating the point as opposed to simply throwing an unhinged insult my way.
Have a good Sunday.

The Department of Homeland Security, I.C.E., the TSA, and FEMA should all be disbanded since they ( and The Patriot Act) were all massive overreactions to 9/11.

A complete pause on immigration for the next twenty years and I’ll agree to abolish ICE upon the completion of Trump’s second term.
Deal?
Deal?

How much money is being spent on getting these rioters out there to interfere with LEO, and do the rioters need to be trained better?
Each has a job to do. Ones sole purpose is to interfere with the other. One has the limp wristed MN leadership behind them, and the other has the Feds behind them.
With that said, of the 2, LE isn't in the wrong here.
STOP INTERFERING WITH LE DOING THEIR JOBS, DUMBASSES!!
