Could Chambliss have given him a heads up that he would be entering the draft? Or is his friendship with Simmons that strong.

I believe Cayden Lee had made up his mind to leave regardless, and his main interest was playing with his buddy Austin Simmons.

I think I'd play for Drink instead of Golding, too. He's probably making a wise decision. The Ole Miss offense will sputter even if they have Chambliss and Lacy and what they have left/bring in.

I think it was more like hope on Ole Miss side that they could keep him.

Kewan wishes he didn’t sign such a large contract with Ole Miss. He knows he’s stuck. Per sources.

Now this is just crazy. Lacy is better than both of these guys by a long shot.

Let's see how much better he is with Frank Wilson. Berry is capable of taking it to the house eveytime he touches the ball. Durham and Berry is in a much better offense with Kiffin/Weis......I think we'll be ok without Lacy.

Lacy is very talented but we'll see how much the scheme matters. Lacy is a nice back regardless but I think he'll have some struggles next year. Both Berry and Durham should benefit greatly from a new scheme and RB coach that work together. The backfield, rotations, and scheme always seemed to have disconnect recently. I think you'll see a better product next season, given the talent and scheme, which should better highlight the talent. We will also have some dudes up front to get a push.

According to Locked on Sling Blade, they are great friends:

This, and I think Dilin Jones is going to be a revelation.

Probably just means that the Ole Miss thought that he was just in the portal in case Chambliss didn't get another year was wishful thinking.

.

Lacy runs with much more power than Berry and Durham has good track speed, but it doesn’t show up on the football field. Neither are bad players and LSU can win with them…but Lacy is better

If the coaches use Berry like they did with Lacy.....Berry is going to lead the SEC in rushing by a wide margin. Berry had 3 rushes for 45 yds against Houston in the bowl game then Frank Wilson took over. Kiffin/Weis is going to turn Berry/Durham into a 2 headed monster. Lacy will regret not following Kiffin to LSU..

I know I never saw Lacy get ran down on a breakout touchdown. I’ve saw both of our backs multiple times. There’s track speed and football speed… lacy has crazy football speed

bullshite. Durham and Berry were both much higher rated recruits that both had better true freshman seasons. Unfortunately, they got stuck running behind the worst LSU offensive line in decades while Lacy benefited from playing in an offensive scheme that is perennially in the top 5. There’s a reason that Lacy went from RB4 at Missouri behind 2 undrafted RB’s to All-American and Chambliss went from Ferris State to potential 1st Round NFL pick in one season with Kiffin and Nussmeier’s performance in 2025 fell off a cliff.

Eye test alone tells you Berry is faster than Lacy.
