Never forgot folks were worried about recruiting when Frank Wilson left

Dude really felt he was bigger than the program and a messiah to our recruiting pipeles. Glad Kiffin didn’t cave in to his demands and essentially told him to kick rocks. Still disappointing how he destroyed his LSU legacy with the way he left

I think Frank was holding LSU hostage. Lane apparently wasn't going to put up with that.

Only dumb dumbs thought Frank’s departure would hurt

Frank, like most, are excellent recruiters as long as they have that LSU brand on the chest.
It’s always 90% brand and 10% ability to close. No different than any other business development or sales job.

He absolutely was. The rumors of him apparently telling guys like Lamar brown and Richard Anderson to hold off on signing was fricking pathetic. Kiffin is big on trust and loyalty he’s not gonna put up with bs like that glad he didn’t let that egomaniac strongman him

Frank IMHO thought he was owed the head coaching job. Now he will have ciach against us.

Wilson is a TERRIBLE running backs coach. TERRIBLE! Ole Miss is about to find that out. He probably won't last there.

It’s a situational thing. It certainly wouldn’t have been a bad thing for us if Frank would have been willing to stay in an analyst role. If he was heading somewhere out of conference or retiring, it would have no impact. You just replace him.
Him going to Ole Miss means he will be a constant annoyance. I don’t think he will do any real damage, especially long-term, but we will have to work and spend a little money to keep the best players from listening to his bullshite.
I’m going through the exact same thing in my job currently. My company has an office in Nashville that I also oversee because it deals with my department only. The Branch Manager there left suddenly just before the Holidays and started his own company. I’ve been able to out-maneuver him and make sure my Nashville customers are happy and sticking with us, but we do a lot at Ft Campbell and that work is currently at risk.
This a-hole was able to take our senior tech with him and he has all of the relationships up there having worked there almost exclusively for several years. He and I have worked together for 25 years and get along very well, but he’s 5 years from retirement and doesn’t want to have to deal with another manager transition. I offered to take on the Ft Campbell work personally and manage him myself so he wouldn’t have a transition to deal with and more money and profit share, but he had already made up his mind before I even had a shot. The a-hole we had running the office in Nashville has been setting this up for a few months while our main office was extremely busy and having a great year. shite happens.
My company is large and can easily dwarf a 2 man start-up, but it’s taking up a shite-load of my time and a lot of money to hold the line with this customer until we can get good replacements hired. Instead of being focused on running my department, I’m spending 2-4 days a week out of town so this customer is taken care of and feels like that relationship they had with our tech can be replaced. It fricking sucks.
Just like with LSU and Frank, you can beat out relationships like these, but it takes a willingness to spend a lot of time and money to do it. I definitely believe Lane and this staff will put in that work based on what we’ve just seen.
I know for damn sure I will in my case, if for no other reason that to deliver a giant frick You to an unprofessional a-hole.

Yeah, I never understood that. LSU at it's best can recruit itself.

Not sure why everyone thought Frank was the Brand.
I mean at this point a Tard on LSUs staff should be able to recruit players to LSU from New Orleans.
Just need a pulse, and to be completely honest, Frank was pretty low energy.
We needed energy, and we got it.

I don’t think people quite understand how dumb of a human Frank Wilson is.

This plays out in the business world too. Many reps and mgrs think they are worth more than they are.
Everyone is replaceable.
Its not as big a deal as we thought clearly

Frank was good at recruiting......recruiting is no longer necessary, cash rules.

Frank was able to recruit AT LSU much better than anywhere else he was at. LSU is easier to recruit for him than anywhere else.

100% agree. It just takes the commitment to spend the time and money to offset whatever relationships they have. I don’t think that will be an issue with this staff.
