Lane deserves a lot of credit, but he obviously has support.

No doubt Lane has worked his arse off, but are enough bouquets being thrown to his support team? Glascock, Verge, assistants, big money donors, MMR, etc.? No way he would have been this successful without full buy in and support from a much larger team.

Yes he does. But that’s why he’s here

He was the only hire to make, just like he should’ve been the only interview 4 years ago. Instead Scott Woodward went out of his way to hire an old washed up coach than never achieved any major win against a top tier team, and gave him the most ridiculous contract ever. I wasn’t near as mad about the $10m/year as I was at the 10 year part of the contract. That had to be the dumbest decision I had seen made since Bertman didn’t back up the Brinks truck to keep Saban.

It's definitely been an all in approach, but it doesn't work if the leader doesn't lead from the front and Lane has been a beast. I knew he was a great offensive mind, but didn't know he had a relentless work ethic. That doesn't get reported as much. But, absolutely hats off for all the LSU folks that made the offseason a major success.
I can't wait to see Lane and staff cook now that they have all the ingredients.

Can’t wait till next year!

There may be others, but obviously Lane could only do this with massive amounts of $$$.

I'm still kinda awe struck a bit... I don't remember being this excited about LSU football.. 2019 was historic obviously.. We as LSU fans had longed for offense.. It's almost unforgivable how Miles butchered offenses with the likes of Beckham Landry Randle.. I remember seeing former tigers balling out in the NFL that barely got touches under Lester. Saban was a defensive genius.. Those were great times.. Now we get to see an offensive genius who seems to have a massive chip on his shoulder, and has everyone aligned and bought in..

I'm sure ppl remember hearing about Coach O trying to get Scott to give him some support for coordinators.. 500k. No incentives for a LSU DC.. enter Dante Moore iirc.. So this alignment we've all witnessed is pretty damn impressive

If you think of the program as a system of systems, then, certainly the support is there. It was demonstration of that support that brought him here. That support congealed around him because he was/is perceived (rightly or wrongly) to be the best option at this time.
I mean, the team had to move Heaven and Earth to get him here. Think of what happened: The board (and the boosters), with the governor's backing, was bringing in a new President at the same time they were ousting the head football coach (certainly the most important public employee in this state, possibly excepting the Governor) and the AD (the #2 guy on the list and, frankly, the LSU President is way, way up there, too). That team had to unify around a new (interim? Nah, permanent. Maybe) AD and then the HFC search that was exclusively Lane Kiffin or bust operation.
The system of systems worked about as well as it could, as well as it ever has and far better than most of us expected.

No disrespect to Verge but...
I think Verge has gotten the Mark Emmert treatment when Emmert told Joe Dean regarding the Saban hire: "Don't haggle.. give him what he wants."
In addition to Saban's then huge salary offer of a meeeelion dollars, Saban was promised the academic center. In no time, they had the funding for the academic center.
The big boosters wanted Kiffin and no one else. Verge was told whatever he wants, he gets. That's one of the big reasons Kiffin chose LSU. Stricklin at Florida wanted his own GM, and was shaky on the NIL commitment. Kiffin was told by LSU: It's your program, just tell us what you need.
I am sure Verge has rolled more than a few stones out of the way for Lane to get shite done but that's Verge's mandate.

Part of his job is too generate financial support. He's just doing a great job. We had a drunk, lazy, unlikable dumbass for the last 4 years.

There is a synergy here that is unmistakable.
