IMO every person, actually doing the child smuggling as well as funding the child smuggling, should receive mandatory life in prison without parole if guilty.

You're trying to conflate 2 separate issues
The issue you're describing is horrific, but it has nothing to do with deportation efforts. It has to do with securing the border.
Where the Biden administration fricked up royally is they hinted that it was ok to immigrate here. The message should have been loud and clear. Don't come because we're going to do everything in our power to ensure that you don't get in. Their messaging on the issue created a very real human crisis and it's fricking despicable.
